Our Club

Sensei Kumaran Subbaiyan

Our club belongs to the Okinawa Goju Ryu Kenshikai Karatedo Kobudo Association, one of the largest Goju Ryu Karate organisations in the world.

This gives us international recognition and a direct link to Okinawa, as well as affording us the opportunity to train with many of the greatest Goju Ryu instructors from around the world.

New students are always welcome, and you will be offered encouragement and support in every aspect of your training. Please contact us for more information.

Our training sessions are held in Harrow on Saturdays (4pm), Sundays (10am) and Thursdays (5pm). Details of our dojo locations can be found on our Karate Classes page.

Chief Instructor – Kumaran Subbaiyan

Sensei Kumaran began training in Goju Ryu Karate and Kobudo (Okinawan weapons training) under Hanshi Hokama Tetsuhiro, 10th Dan, President of the Okinawa Goju Ryu Kenshikai Karatedo Kobudo Association and founder of the first Karate Kobudo museum anywhere in the World.

After receiving his black belt in 1994 and winning the International Karate Tournament in 1998 in Malaysia, Sensei Kumaran started teaching.
